August 12, 2025: We are sad to report that Andy, our aluminum decor welder, passed away unexpectedly this past Sunday morning on his boat while preparing for another night of shrimping. The entire Island and all Down East people are very sad at the loss of Andy and his family is devastated. His family quickly reached out to us and reassured us that his son, Kenneth, will continue the tradition that Andy established, and will continue to partner with the Museum in the sale and distribution of these Island symbols of heritage and hard work.
Your anchor will be delivered as ordered as soon as possible. We will need to give the family time to overcome the shock but they are strong people and their commitment to Andy's legacy is deep. We are sure these anchors will be even more important to them and all of us now.
We will continue to take orders and hope that you will catch a glimpse of what these anchors meant to Andy and to our community. Thank you for wanting to be part of Andy's story and supporting his work and the museum's role in keeping our heritage strong for the next generations.
