Soundside Science for homeschoolers

Soundside Science is for Carteret County homeschool students.  Students will delve into the topic of the month with a Core Sound Museum Educator.  Activities will be hands-on, STEM-focused lessons centering on the biology & ecology of the Down East area.  Classes start at 10:00am and end at 12:00pm.  There is a community snack bar that students can visit at the end of each session.  The snack bar works on a donation system.

Pre Registration is required.  Registration will open at the first of the month.  There are limited seats per class.  Stephanie will email you a reminder prior to the class.  If you sign up and cannot attend, please alert Stephanie so someone on the waitlist can attend.  Most classes are for ages 7 - 14, but check ages before registering.   This is a drop off program. Parents and younger siblings can visit the museum and trails during this time. Registration for our next session will be below.

We do not charge for our educational programming, but rely on donations, sponsorships from those that support our museum, and grants.  If you would like to make a donation or become a member, we have a donation box at the entry of the museum and membership can be acquired through the gift shop.  Donations and memberships are appreciated, but not expected nor required.  Classes fill up quickly.

Not from Carteret County?  You can sign up, but you will be put on a wait list.  If there is room, you will be notified of an opening prior to the class.  You can also contact Stephanie at stephaniesanders@coresound.com to schedule a class for your homeschool group.
