THANKS to our WONDERFUL VOLUNTEERS!
(and we can always use more!)

There is still work underway inside the building but there is much we can do to help. WE can do it!

If you have questions, please call us. 252.728.1500

WE did it.  What is more important than “what we did” is that WE indeed brought together a wonderful celebration of heritage at this year’s Waterfowl Weekend – a weekend that reflects an entire year’s worth of good and important work in preserving and protecting the beauty of Down East Carteret County.

The Core Sound Waterfowl Museum & Heritage Center is a true community project.  Nothing that happens here happens without the commitment of the individuals that bring together our community – the businesses, the families, our partners and all the individuals that give of themselves to make sure that the traditions of Core Sound continue, not only on the first weekend of December but at all the special events, school programs, community gatherings and documentary projects every day of the year. Annual Volunteer Oyster Roast

Saturday, January 26, 2008, 5:30 at the Museum

The Core Sound Waterfowl Museum and Heritage Center thanks all the volunteers who “make it happen” during this special week! Thank you, volunteers, for all you do to make OUR Museum what it is today!

We're looking for YOU...

Please call the museum (728-1500) or email: museum@coresound.com to let us know how you can help! It does not matter how little or how much time you have to give, we need it.

We need YOU, your neighbors, your family, your friends, but YOU must help lead them. At that time we will be outlining all the many opportunities you will have to be part of our work in our new home. We will work with your schedules to develop our plan to cover the museum every day with folks like you who care about this place — the past and the future.

As all of you know, the museum building will not be completed at that time, and that is good news. There is still work to be done on exhibits, archive research, oral history collection, establishing our library, the list goes on ... We have much to do and learn and we need YOU to help us make sure that it is RIGHT!

Thank you for all you have done, are doing and WILL DO as we make this move. Someday you can tell your children and their children how exciting it was to be part of this day in Core Sound’s history.
