Yes, from the Core Sound Waterfowl Museum Lookout Tower you can
see the Lighthouse as well as much of Core Banks and Core Sound,
Beaufort Inlet, Middle Marsh and Shackleford ... It is wonderful!
And right now, those who come to the museum are missing all this!
Today we have a wonderful opportunity to get that elevator in
and the tower completed. With the leadership of Cape Lookout National
Seashore, we have been provided with a NPS Cost Share Challenge
Grant of $30,000 that will help us provide elevator service to our
visitors. Our challenge is raising the additional $50,000 we need
for the elevator and to complete the tower interior (including steps,
walls, electrical.) We have until June 1 to raise these funds so
that construction can be completed by October 1 to meet this grant
